COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1.  Are we open to the public or is it members only?
"Yes we are open to the general public but reserve the right to
change our hours to accommodate special events, holidays, or private
parties."
2. Do we provide towels?
"No.  Please bring your own towel. If you forget we do have Pirate's
Island towels available for purchase."
3.  Is there a place to change?
"Yes. There is a mens and womans Locker room.  We do not have a
family changing space at this time."
4. Where do I put my belongings when I am not swimming?
"You are more then welcome to keep belongings in the locker room or
in the facility with you. Pirates Island is not responsible for lost or
stolen items so if you would like to secure your belongings please rent
a locker for $2."
5. Can I wear shoes?
"Water shoes are the only shoes allowed inside the water park.
Street shoes, flip flops, or any shoe that may bring outside bacteria
into the facility is not allowed to be worn in the park."
6.  What is the bathing attire?
"General bathing suits are required. Street clothes are not to be
worn in the pool."
7.  Why do I have to shower before getting in the water?
"Showering off helps to reduce the amount of chemicals you bring
into the pool.  Your hairspray, lotion, aftershave, deodorant,
perfume,and body oils mix with the chlorine and can produce a not so
pleasant chlorine like aroma, so for your own sake and the sake of
others, please shower off."
8.  Is there a discount for children?
"We give our discount based on height not age.  Our large winding
water slides are considered "carnival rides" by the state of Michigan
and considered unsafe for anyone under 42."
9.  Can I bring food into the water park?
"No. Food items can be purchased in the Jolly Roger Cafe but must
remain in the Cafe until consumed."
10. Why do I have to pay admission to watch my children?
"We have a non-participant admission fee of $5.00 as all admissions
affect our maximum capacity requirements whether they are a
participant or non-participant."
